BUSH MEAT WARNING IN KENYA

A recent report from the Born Free Foundation has revealed that unwitting tourists to Kenya could be eating bush meat, such as monkey, giraffe or antelope, thinking they are getting beef.

202 butcheries in Nairobi were surveyed and nearly half the butchers were selling entirely or partly bush meat, many without realising.

This is not only a threat to the wildlife, but also to humans as they can spread infections such as anthrax and Ebola.
