TERROR RISK FOR INDONESIA 01/05 Since the government lifted its ban on non-essential travel to Bali last month (the ban being placed after the bombings in Bali 2 years ago), tour operators have seen a surge in interest in Bali. Kuoni say that extra flights are desperately needed to cope with the number of people wanting flights to Bali. However, the Foreign Office has issued a revised alert against the possibility of terrorist attacks against foreign tourists in Indonesia. The advice says there is a ‘heightened risk’, and the Foreign Office says “We continue to receive reports that terrorists in Indonesia are planning further attacks.”
