Here are some basic tips on security for your laptop:

• Keeping the laptop with you, or if you are leaving it somewhere, to make sure it is secure and out of sight in, for example, a car. (This laptop insurance policy only covers theft from an unattended vehicle when it is in the boot and locks and alarms are on, but there is no cover from an unattended vehicle overnight);
• If you are travelling in a car with your laptop, especially in town, keep the laptop out of sight and lock all your doors - this will prevent the "snatch and run" thief;
• If you are taking your laptop on a flight, the laptop must be carried as cabin baggage;
• When you are travelling on public transport, keep your laptop on you, don't put your laptop in the luggage racks, or even on the floor beside you.
