TRAVEL INSURANCE FOR THE PREGNANT WOMAN

PLEASE NOTE - the length of pregnancy should be calculated based on when you return to the UK.

The available policies are:

a - from Select)
Up to 28 weeks pregnancy, natural conception only, if carrying a single child, (i.e. not within 12 weeks of the due date), with no complications (fertility treatment is considered to be a complication) and no history of complications is covered by the policies here:

b - from Citybond)
Up to 32 weeks pregnancy, including as a result of fertility treatment, if carrying a single child, or 24 weeks for a multiple pregnancy, can be covered on our pre-existing medical conditions policies here:

Applicable only to policy option b from Citybond - Please ensure you speak to the health screening number on 0870 220 3937 and tell them it is for a single trip policy, even if there are no complications, and enter the medical reference number they'll give to you in the box to the right of your date of birth on the application form.

c - from IHI)
There is a policy we can arrange for pregnancy up to 36 weeks but it is only for emergency medical expenses and repatriation/evacuation. However, there are two criteria to meet in order to get cover up to 36 weeks.
1. The pregnancy must have been as a result of natural conception.
2. You can only be carrying 1 child.

As part of the purchasing process you will have to confirm that you have read and accept the Policy Conditions.
This policy is provided by IHI Danmark, a Danish company authorised by the FSA in the UK and they only accept payment from all major credit cards or VISA debit cards, but not Switch/Maestro, in Pounds, Euros, US Dollars or Swiss Francs.
